Outlaw Design Blog is a great resource for designers. it also has a really nice looking header. I like the leather look. It has a rich, nice looking texture. I also enjoy the dark color. It has a nice weathered look to it. It kind of reminds me of a great leather bomber jacket…one that you’ve had for years and is comfortable beyond description. The navigation is simple and easy to see just below the header as well. Check it out when you get a chance. Also, take some time to review some of the excellent information housed at Outlaw Design too.

Aah, how does something so wrong look so right? The torn corrugated paper header and the navigation backgrounds are awesome. Notice the logo is done in a way that it looks like it is printed on the paper. The reason it looks that way is because you can see the paper fibers and textures through the logo. If it was not this way the logo would have looked like it is stuck on top, like a sticker.
The sidebar looks great too. Same background, straight edge on the left keeps everything aligned. I don’t think it would look this good if the edge was torn.
Got to check out the footer too. The torn shape is great, cut out along the top to make room for the links, … genius!! …
This site just looks awesome. It will definitely go in our Top Sites of 2008 list.

For some more inspiration, here is a nice layout that is really “refreshing”. When this page opened up I was really impressed to see this. This design is perfectly ballanced out. The flowers illustration in the front is great, the little red hearts and the arrow pop and balance the page out with the red lettering on the right. The grays and the browns work great together. Also the glossy effect that spans across the information boxes. It’s a simple thing to do but what a ifference it makes. Little stripes detail in the heading boxes, the transparent feel of the info boxes is amazing.
Awesomely refreshing design!

I stumbled across Truebluetitan.com today and thought it deserved mention. I like several things about this site’s layout and design:
1. Color combination. I like the dark brown and silvers that are on the page. I also like the texture of the brown. It has a leather like quality to it. Er, wait…is that naugahyde? Whether it’s leather, naugahyde, or pleather, it’s a nice look.
2. I like the logo alot too. It’s a titan…no getting around it. It’s also got a crest like style and aviation type theme to it, which sets it apart as well.
3. Very simple navigation. 3 tabs…perfect. Simplistic, yet comprehensive in scope.
I think there are some simple points in this design that can lend itself to creativity and ’spark’ for new designs when they come up with new clients. Check it out and let me know what you think of the site too.

Here is another great two-tone logo design. They are using contrast colors from the website theme color pallet to sepparate the two words. There is also a nice little badge. The letter “a” with threedots under inside a white circle. Very nice.
