Warm Colors, Clean Design, Logo & Navigation

Logo

You129.com has a few nice elements that I wanted to note, the logo and the navigation tabs. I like the logo for the clean smooth lines, it just flows. Nice, quiet, white to beige gradient, a little drop shadow. Looks really good.

Navigation

The navigation tabs are also very clean simple. You can see that the tabs that are not in use are darker, therefore making them look like they are behind the active tab.

Blue and beige color combination seems to work very well, makes the site feel warm.

A website header for you

Website Header

There’s a website header you can be proud of. Layered clips of photos and some illustration and it makes a great header. It actually is more of an ad since there are no navigation buttons on there.

SEOcontest.com is a contest website so this header is appropriate in this case. Check out the actual website to experience the complete design.

Another great crest logo

Crest Logo Design

I love these crest logos, they just look good. Centered in the header, boldly stating, “you have entered the Blog Design Blog zone”.

There is lots of work put into this one. You have the background first, the blue rays expanding from the center. Then you have the splats and the dripping paint effect followed by the fading diagonal lines. Looks like there are some white squiggly line patterns, a music symbol and only then you have the wings, the shield the lion and the ribbon with the Blog Design text on it.

Wow, try reading all that in one breath. Really, this is not an easy design to create and if you put some time into it, it comes out looking like a champ.

I will have to try making one of these some time.

Unique Navigation Setup

gutenberg.jpg

Gutenberg On Line has an interesting site navigation set up. Actually, I like the way the entire site ‘moves’ from page to page. While I do not understand the language it is written in (I believe it is Polish), I found myself clicking through page after page just to see how the navigation menu functions. It’s unique and I like it. What do you think of it? This is another one of those websites to ‘file away’ for use on projects that may come up in the future.

Unique, Gliding Navigation

blue header

Really nice header over here. I like the slight pattern in the center of the header up at the top and the blue tones work well. The prize winner on this website though is the site navigation, take a look. Looks simple and ordinary at first but if you hover your mouse over the navigation links the box surrounding the wording will glide over to the link you are hovering over, plus it adjusts the width on the fly to accommodate the size of the wording in the link. Very clever.

Blue Blocky Navigation And Nice Two-Tone Logo Design Idea

Blue Blocky Navigation And Nice Two-Tone Logo Design Idea

Navigation Bar

Blocky, boxy navigation buttons on this site look nice and clean, it gives off a professional feel in the combination with the other elements on the web page. Hover over the buttons and they turn blue, a gradient of a darker into lighter blue. A secondaty menu bar under helps get the visitor to where he’s going quickly, cutting a click out of the process.

Logo

Take a look at the logo, a two-tone, if I can call it that. This is an effective way to sepparate the words in a multiple, usually not more than two, word logo where there is no space between the words. You can use a font weight or bold effect on the first word while leaving the other regular. To give a better co?trast or look, add colors into the mix. I try to stay with the website theme color for the main or the word you want to emphasise and the other one can be either a few shades darker or lighter, or sometimes, like in this case, it can be the secondary color from the website theme color pallet.

Blue & White Logo Design Idea

Sweet logo on this one. Two-tone, blue and white on gray background. The icon on the top includes or looks like it has the G for Grupo and M for Media. The two?colors work well together. Also love the blue flames on the sides. This makes for a great header design. Gives me lots of ideas.

Nice Dark Blue Website Background Pattern

This is a nice dark-blue background pattern that would make a lighter shade page stand out. I also adjusted the contrast and brightness on it for the second version you can see bellow.

Simple Web 2.0 Logo Design

Web 2.0 Logo Design Idea

Here is another example of a simple Web 2.0 logo design. It is a simple logo that consists of two words that are sepparated with contrast in colors, one darker, the other lighter shade of the same color. The circles addition to the letter “j” adds a custom look.

Also check out the background pattern. I am not sure about the variation in the larger stripes but it still gives it a personality.
