There’s a website header you can be proud of. Layered clips of photos and some illustration and it makes a great header. It actually is more of an ad since there are no navigation buttons on there.

An artsy flash design

Very nicely done design with an artsy theme.
This site was submitted to us through the “Submit a site to be featured on WDI” link at the top of this page.
I think this is a very nice flash designed site. I like that the design gets centered inside the browser window. Also the background is very rich and makes the content on the page pop. I like the thumbnails in the left sidebar and the icons at the top and bottom that will take you through out the site.

Awesome Artistic Website

Another reader suggested we check out Toucouleur’s website. Incredible! Very artistic, very creative. I especially like the way the ‘canvas’ is torn back to reveal the RSS feed button over on the right hand portion of the screen. I also like the paperclip and strips of paper effect too. It has a sort of grunge look about it.
It’s very well done and should provide loads of inspiration to other designers. Thanks for sending us the link!
**One caveat, it does take some time to load initially…but, it’s worth it!
Another Simple Design with Creative Navigation
Tuesday, March 11th, 2008This site is similar to the Art in Hong Kong site in that it has quite a bit of ‘hand drawn’ effects incorporated and it has non-traditional site navigation. This site isn’t finished yet, but with what is completed, you can get a good sampling of the creative concepts behind what he is designing with this site.

Interesting Site Navigation
Monday, March 10th, 2008I came across this site last night for Art in Hong Kong and thought it merited mention. I like the way their home page combines elements that appear to be hand drawn and the use of Flash technology. The overall appearance has an artsy feel to it along with a three dimensional twist. When you add in the movement in the scenes, it creates a very unique looking home page. I especially like the menu tab on the left side. This is a simple site navigation set up. When you mouse over the word ‘Menu’ it opens up to allow you to select your destination. I like it!
This is certainly unconventional, but it’s very eye catching. This is definitely something to file away for those web design customers who are requesting a site design that stands out in a crowd!

Artsy, colorful, inviting header design is what you will see when you visit Espira Technologias website. This design grabbed my attention right away. This multi-layer design is not hard to put together if you know your Photoshop but coming up with this kind of a colage of shapes, lines and colors takes talant. Hope this one plants a seed of “big design” in your mind.
