The shades of grays, greens and reds work so good together on this website. The secret is in the little details like the shadow effects between the panels, the subtle texture in the green panel and the lighting effect down the center of the page. These details brings the design look from being just flat and boring to almost a 3D and alive.

Good looking design. I like the use of different elements of art, the use of color.

What’s the first thing that one sees as a website loads? The overall design, the big picture is the first thing that will produce some sort of a feeling in a visitor whether it will be a positive or a negative. Great design may just be that first impression that will make a visitor want to stay and see the rest of the site or get out as soon as possible.
The 17 websites and their design that are listed here are the ones that I liked based on the first impression, looking for that pleasing design that makes me want to look around. Some of them are illustrations on the website, others are layouts and the overall theme.
So here we go.
