If you enjoy a good font, then you will truly enjoy I Love Typography. This site is a humongous resource for all things typography related. It contains some excellent articles related to typography. It is also full of great font resources too (which is usually helpful to designers looking for an eye-catching font to incorporate in to a new design).

PSDTuts put out a tutorial last month detailing how to create text that looks like a well manicured lawn. The tutorial is very detailed so that even rookies like me are able to complete this task. I’m sure that advanced PS users will be able to breeze right through this tutorial. However, it’s a great tool to have available…especially in today’s “green” mindset. So…just keep this tutorial in the back of your mind (or bookmarked) for future reference.

DaFont.com has some really good fonts available. Registration is free on their site too. Most of the fonts are free, some are restricted to personal use and other fonts as for a donation to the author of the font. The fonts are broken down into 9 major categories that contain about 60 sub-categories. So, when you’re hunting for a font that works well on a particular project, I’d suggest checking out DaFont.com’s site. While looking through their site briefly, I found quite a few that I liked and would use.

Smashing Magazine put together a great list of FREE fonts available to designers. As I’ve said before, FREE is a great price! Most professional fonts are expensive…especially when you consider that you will only use it one or twice on various projects. If you can find one that looks great without having to break the bank, then you’re way ahead of the game! The fonts listed in their article are high quality and look great. The only caveat with their list is that you need to check for any licensing restrictions for commercial work. However, there are quite a few to choose from that have absolutely no restrictions placed on them. So, check them out and enjoy. If you get a chance, let us know what your favorite font is from the list. I like the way Diavlo looks. To me, it’s “smooth.” I like it. Which ones do you like?!
